About Dr. Jeongyeon Yang
Dr. Jeongyeon Yang is an educator, researcher, and interfaith peace practitioner dedicated to advancing peace, dialogue, and social harmony through education and international cooperation. She holds a Ph.D. in English Literature, with research interests in pragmatics, communication, and the role of language in fostering understanding across diverse communities.
She currently serves in the Alliance of Religions Department of HWPL (Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light), where she works to promote interfaith dialogue and cooperation among religious leaders and communities worldwide. Her work is grounded in the belief that lasting peace can be achieved when people of different faiths engage in sincere dialogue and fulfill their responsibilities according to the authentic teachings of their respective religions.
Through HWPL's World Alliance of Religions' Peace (WARP) Offices, she has facilitated comparative scriptural discussions and interfaith exchanges that encourage mutual respect, understanding, and collaboration among religious communities. These initiatives seek to address religious misunderstandings, prevent conflicts, and cultivate a culture of peace based on shared values found within various faith traditions.
Throughout her involvement in international peace activities, she has collaborated with religious leaders, scholars, educators, youth representatives, and civil society organizations from the United States, Japan, Pakistan, India, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania, and other countries in Eastern Europe and Asia.
In addition to her interfaith work, Dr. Yang has extensive experience in education and leadership development. She has worked closely with students and young adults, promoting values of peace, critical thinking, ethical leadership, volunteerism, and responsible global citizenship.
