About Dr. Shahnaz Jafar Basmeh
Dr. Shahnaz Jafar Basmeh holds M.A. (Hindi), B.Ed., and Ph.D. degrees and has been actively engaged in teaching and research in the field of higher education for the past 22 years. Currently, she serves as an Assistant Professor and Research Supervisor in the Department of Hindi at Mahatma Gandhi Mission University. Under her guidance and supervision, three research scholars have been awarded their Ph.D. degrees, one scholar has submitted their thesis, and two scholars are currently conducting active doctoral research.
Dr. Basmeh has made significant contributions to the fields of Hindi literature and research. Her research book titled 'Krishna Sobti ke Katha Sahitya Mein Prakash Nari And Nari Problema' (Women and Women's Issues in the Narrative Literature of Krishna Sobti) was published in 2009. In addition, her acclaimed book titled 'Charitra Rekha' has also been published. Twenty-three of her research papers have appeared in prestigious national and international journals such as 'Alochana', 'Current Literature' (Vartman Sahitya), and 'Naya Gyanodaya'. She is continuously engaged in writing and research, particularly in the realm of women's discourse. Furthermore, she has edited more than 100 poetry collections and literary works.
Dr. Shahnaz Jafar Basmeh's 'Indian Constitution Diary' writing project on the Indian Constitution was awarded a patent by the Government of India last year. This achievement marks a significant milestone in her literary, investigative, and creative endeavors, highlighting her multifaceted academic contributions.
She has been honored with the prestigious Subhadra Kumari Chauhan Award in recognition of her remarkable contributions to literature, teaching, and women's discourse.
