BIOGRAPHY & BACKGROUND

About Dr. Shilpa Wankhede

Dr. Shilpa Wankhede is an Ayurvedic physician, public health professional, human-rights advocate, and peace practitioner dedicated to advancing community well-being, social justice, and sustainable development through healthcare, education, and public service.

She holds a Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) and currently serves as a Government Medical Officer at an Urban Health and Wellness Centre under the National Urban Health Mission (NUHM), India. Through her work in public healthcare, she contributes to improving access to medical services, promoting preventive healthcare, and enhancing community health awareness, particularly among underserved populations.

Driven by a commitment to public health and social responsibility, Dr. Wankhede has actively participated in HIV/AIDS awareness and prevention initiatives through her work with AIDS Pratibandhak Samiti. She has conducted educational programs addressing HIV transmission, prevention, and health awareness among vulnerable communities, including slum residents, laborers, and transport workers.

In addition to her medical service, Dr. Wankhede is actively engaged in human-rights advocacy and social welfare initiatives. She currently serves as the District President of the International Human Rights Protection Organization in Jalna, Maharashtra, where she works to promote human dignity, equality, social justice, and the protection of fundamental rights.

As a member of HWPL (Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light), she also supports initiatives that promote peace education, youth engagement, intercultural understanding, and global harmony. Her professional interests include public health, preventive medicine, human rights, community development, peacebuilding, health education, environmental sustainability, and social transformation.
