About Prof. (Dr.) N. Panchanatham
Professor Dr. N. Panchanatham, Vice-Chancellor of Gandhigram Rural Institute (Deemed to be University) under the Ministry of Education and Former Vice-Chancellor of Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University, is a distinguished academician with an experience of over 34 years in teaching, research, administration, and extension activities in higher education across Annamalai University, Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University, Gandhigram Rural Institute, and the Government of Pondicherry.
Born on April 25, 1962, he is a seasoned educational administrator who has served for more than 20 years in key leadership roles as Vice Chancellor, Registrar, Head of Business School, Placement Officer, Student Welfare Officer, and Deputy Warden. He also possesses 10 years of industrial experience. His extensive academic qualifications include M.B.A., Ph.D. (HRM-Org. Behaviour), LEAP (IIT-KGP & Cambridge, UK), MICI (USA), SME R&D (Israel), LMI (Hungary), MAFS (Netherlands), M.Com., M.Sc. (Zoo.), M.Ed., M.A. (Psy.), and M.Sc. (Yoga).
In the fields of Human Resource, Organizational, and Consumer Behaviour research, Prof. Panchanatham has published 453 research papers in reputable national and international journals. He has authored, edited, and co-edited 75 books, received 50 international and national awards, fellowships, and recognitions, guided 65 Doctoral Scholars, and delivered lectures at hundreds of conferences and academic forums worldwide. He has led and collaborated on research and consultancy projects funded by UGC, AICTE, RUSA, and PMMMNMTT.
Prof. Panchanatham has undertaken 62 international academic visits as a guest and visiting professor, visited over 1,500 higher education institutions, and served as a member of Syndicate, Governing Council, Senate, Planning Board, Academic Council, and Board of Studies. He has participated in quality assessment for 70+ institutions with NAAC and 150+ institutions with AICTE, leading teams that secured 'A' Grade accreditations for both Annamalai University and Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University.
Under his leadership, he and his team have organized 2,500 national and international academic programs, conducted 121 world-record events, signed 700 MoUs (including the adoption of 642 schools), established 55 functional centers, adopted 5 villages, and planted thousands of trees.
