About Prof. (Dr.) Riyas Sulaima Lebbe
Professor (Dr.) Riyas Sulaima Lebbe is an independent researcher, management consultant, corporate trainer, and executive leader in peace studies. He serves as the Founder and Executive Director of the Centre for Peace Studies, Sri Lanka.
Prof. Riyas Sulaima Lebbe holds a DSc (HC) in Human Rights and Peace Studies from British American University Nigeria, a Post-Doctorate in Diplomatic Relations and Global Security from CSJM University India, a PhD in Diplomacy & International Relations, and an MBA in Human Resource Management. He is a Chartered Economist (GAFM USA), Master Management Consultant (AAPM USA), and Chartered HR Project Manager.
He serves as Vice Chancellor (on contract) for Yesbud University Zambia, President of The George Washington University of Peace (USA), and Council Member of Eastern University, Sri Lanka. He previously served as Pro-Vice Chancellor of British American University Sri Lanka Campus and Research Fellow at the United Nations Institute for Disarmament Research (UNIDIR) in Geneva.
His extensive work spans conflict prevention, genocide and mass atrocity prevention, international human rights advocacy, and peace studies research across Asia, Europe, and North America. He has presented research at major international conferences including the International Association of Genocide Scholars (Australia, Armenia), International Studies Association (USA, Canada), and International Peace Research Association (Sierra Leone).
