About Sanjay K. Rai
Deeply inspired by Mahatma Gandhi and Acharya Vinoba Bhave, Sanjay K. Rai's journey reflects a simple conviction—that Gandhian thought is not a chapter of history, but a living message that must reach every generation.
Today, Sanjay serves as National Secretary of Harijan Sevak Sangh, founded by Mahatma Gandhi in 1932, at the historic Gandhi Ashram, Kingsway Camp, Delhi. He occupies the position once held by Thakkar Bapa, the first Secretary of the Sangh.
He is also a Trustee of the National Youth Project, founded under the leadership of Dr. S. N. Subba Rao. Between 2010 and 2023, he organized and participated in more than 60 National Integration and Peace Youth Camps across India and South-East Asia, bringing together young people beyond boundaries of religion, caste, language, and region.
Beyond his social and Gandhian work, Sanjay has devoted over two decades to public health and community service in underserved areas, associating with organizations including UNICEF, USAID, and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
